About.

Hilary's background is in the Arts and Antiques with a smidge of Monkey handling along the way. Naturally drawn to an active life she has always enjoyed sports. As a youngster she competed in gymnastics cross country as well as been an avid horse rider.

Her first encounter with Pilates was in 2004, when after a difficult pregnancy, she tried it out on the advice of an osteopath friend. Practicing Pilates dramatically changed her life and improved the problems caused during pregnancy and it seemed a natural progression when in 2012 she decided to take her practice further by enrolling in an advanced diploma in Pilates at NTC Dublin.

Since then, Hilary has continued to further her education studying with some of the leading experts in body and movement field. This includes Reformer Barre, pelvic floor health, young adults, ante and postnatal health and workshops.

When not teaching she enjoys reading {mainly about Pilates}, sea swimming, drinking fine wine, dancing to bad music and sometimes, but not always, coming last in local triathlons.

Hilary is passionate about teaching the body in front of her and feels connecting the mind with our muscles greatly improves how we deal with injury and she truly enjoys sharing her knowledge and journey, but mostly learning from her clients.

My Philosophy.

My aim is to teach the body in front of me. No judgement, no expectations.

The physical is deeply connected to the mental part of all of us and it’s this that gets me out of bed everyday and why, I myself, fell in love with mindful movement.

We disconnect from ourselves at every opportunity both consciously and unconsciously and therefore have no way of listening to our body when it wants to tell us something. I see my role as one of a guide leading people back to their self.

Pain should not be feared but acknowledged. No one system solves everything . My work is a tiny cog in the path of recovery improvement and or awareness.
